Celebrating Australia Awards’ impact in Mongolia in 2024

Australia Awards – Mongolia has released its 2024 Year in Review, showcasing significant achievements and outcomes from last year. This document highlights the impact of Australia Awards through Scholarships, short-term training and alumni engagement.
Key highlights from the Year in Review for Mongolia include
- Thirty-seven Mongolians (25 women, 11 men, one non-binary person) completed their degrees with the support of Australia Awards Scholarships, the highest number of Mongolian scholars completing their courses since 2018.
- Seventeen future leaders (12 women, five men) from Mongolia received Scholarships for study commencing in 2025.
- Australia Awards facilitated the tenth iteration of the Women’s Leadership Program, with 20 Mongolian graduates completing a nine-month professional development course, enhancing their leadership and decision-making skills.
- Five Mongolian alumni participated in the 2024 Regional Alumni Workshop, strengthening networks and advancing gender equality efforts.
- Mongolian scholars participated in Indigenous engagement activities across Australia, learning about the history, culture, and achievements of Australia’s First Nations peoples.
Reflecting on her Scholarship experience, alumna Arai Byeibitkhan, who completed a Master of Education at Monash University in 2024, said, “Being a recipient of a prestigious Australia Awards Scholarship has been a life-changing experience. It is not just a personal achievement but a journey of growth, resilience and discovery.”
