Welcome Back Ceremony for New Graduates September 22, 2014

The Ceremony was conducted in collaboration with the Mongolia Australia Society on September 22, 2014, welcoming new graduates who completed Master s’ studies in Australia in June/July, 2014. The event was attended by more than 30 people, including distinguished guests from the Government of Australia and Mongolia, Mongolia Australia Society (Mozzies) and employers.

Mr Tony Burchill, Trade Commissioner/Consul General: Australian Trade Commission to Mongolia, Mr Peter Rowe, First Assistant Secretary: North East Asia Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Mr John Pilbeam, Director: Korean Peninsula and Mongolia Section North East Asia Branch and Ms Ariunaa, Executive Director: Mozzies congratulated the graduates on successfully completing their studies and wished them success in applying their new knowledge and skills. They also highlighted the importance of the scholarship program in preparing highly-skilled professionals in Mongolia and creating and maintaining links between Mongolia and Australia.

Ms Bujinlkham, a graduate from Flinders University and Mr Ankhbayar, from the University of Queensland, shared their study and living experiences, the new knowledge and skills gained from their studies and experiences working with Australian organizations researching in nanotechnology and mining engineering.

Mozzies members, Ms Enkhzaya and Ms Erdenezaya, who studied in Australia in the years 2007-2009 in information technology and communications, shared the benefits of the studies and their personal and professional growth and improved knowledge and skills, especially in using the English language, research and analytical skills that have used in their everyday work and lives. They also shared their experiences on introducing new knowledge and innovative ideas to their workplaces, applying different approaches to convince supervisors and colleagues of their benefits. They have always been proud of being recipients of Australia Awards scholarships and continuously promote them to enable others to study at prestigious Australian universities and gain valuable academic knowledge and skills. Enkhzaya and Erdenezaya advised the graduates to become leaders in their workplaces, to keep links with Australia and the scholarship program and become active Mozzies members.

The Reintegration Strategy and Graduate Action Plan were shared with graduates to help them develop their own plans to contribute to national development by applying the knowledge and skills obtained in Australia.

Mozzies members, who studied in Australia more than 10 years ago shared their experiences and advised the graduates to implement their new ideas as soon as possible before they are forgotten or become outdated. Ms Ariunaa provided information on Mozzies’ activities and encouraged all graduates to join other alumni in contributing to and benefitting from the Mozzies.
