Women’s Executive Leadership Development Short Course

The Women in Executive Leadership Development (WELD) short course graduated twenty-four women leaders and senior officers from Mongolia’s public, private sector representation and civil society on Saturday, 2 October 2021. The graduation ceremony took place at the Aurug place and was attended by key stakeholders, funders, and participants. Notable guests included Mr Dave Preston, First Secretary, DFAT, Australian Embassy in Mongolia; Dr Michelle Dunn, WELD Course Leader, The University of Queensland; Ms. Enkhtuvshin Lunden, Country Program Manager, Australia Awards in Mongolia and Ms. Tsolmon Bayaraa, CEO of Zorig Foundation. Aside from participants and program stakeholders, the event was also attended by the representatives of the Australian Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia. After the official part of the ceremony concluded Ms. Jilinda Lee, Inaugural Chair, Lean In Australia National Network facilitated a session on the Lean In Australia and shared with participants her leadership journey and experience.

WELD, a subcomponent of the Australia Awards in Mongolia program and a short course delivered between June, 2021 through to September, 2021 in a hybrid mode, brought together 24 leaders and senior officers to build networks and develop strategies targeting the transformation of women’s leadership in Mongolia. The short course presented opportunities to strengthen participants’ personal linkages with Australian and Mongolian counterparts and subject matter experts to share information and professional experiences. The program covered a wide range of subjects including personal and professional leadership, teamwork, organizational change and innovation, negotiation, gender, disability, and social inclusion. The short course was managed and co-delivered by The University of Queensland and Zorig Foundation.
